Gelato Bali is a vibrant retail shop project located in the lively area of Batu Bolong, Bali — a popular destination known for its eclectic charm and tropical energy. With a land area of 90 m² (10m x 9m) and a total building area of 180 m², this Design & Build project is crafted to serve as both a gelato destination and a visual landmark within the neighborhood. The design aims to draw in foot traffic while offering a memorable spatial experience aligned with the brand’s identity.
Currently in the design development phase, the project blends commercial functionality with the relaxed and artistic atmosphere of its surrounding context. Key considerations include creating seamless indoor-outdoor flow, optimizing the corner site for visibility, and offering patrons an inviting space to relax and enjoy their gelato.

The design concept embraces tropical modernism with playful elements inspired by the product itself — gelato. Soft curves, pastel tones, and textural contrasts are introduced to create a warm, approachable, and Instagram-worthy retail space. Large openings, shaded terraces, and natural materials like wood and terrazzo help integrate the architecture with Bali’s climate and laid-back lifestyle, while maintaining a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
Gelato Bali is envisioned as more than just a place to grab a sweet treat — it’s designed to become a destination in itself. Through a thoughtful combination of brand storytelling, climate-responsive design, and local sensitivity, the project aims to deliver a retail experience that’s engaging, efficient, and deeply rooted in the unique spirit of Batu Bolong.
